Raphinha rejects Liverpool and Chelsea offers in favour of Barcelona
Liverpool had reportedly made an offer for Raphinha to move to Anfield, but the Brazilian rejected it, according to Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo). Former Barcelona player Deco is the 25-year-old forward’s agent.
Raphinha has reportedly made a request to stop a move to Chelsea. Leeds United have given the go-ahead for the Brazilian’s £60 million move to the Blues, but it seems the 25-year-old is keen on a move to Camp Nou.
The Reds also attempted to sign the player, but Raphina rejected the offer and has set his sights on a move to Spain.
The 25-year-old is close to a move this summer from West Yorkshire after impressing in his two seasons at Leeds. The forward has been one of the Elland Road side’s best players. In the Whites’ last campaign, the Brazilian was pivotal in helping Jesse Marsch’s side stay in the Premier League.
Looking at his consistent performances, top clubs around Europe have been vying for the Leeds star’s signature. Liverpool were also one of the clubs interested in him.
Raphinha not a priority for Liverpool
With Mohamed Salah signing a contract extension, the Reds fans won’t feel hard done by with the rejection. The Egyptian has been one of the best players in the world since his arrival in 2017.
Raphinha is a left-footed player and has primarily played on the right for Leeds. With Salah leading the line at Anfield, the right-hand side of our attack is in good hands for a few more years.
Liverpool have also gone out and signed other exciting players this year. Luis Diaz came to the Merseyside club in January and hasn’t looked back since, making a place for himself on the left of attack.
With the departure of Sadio Mane, the Reds signed Darwin Nunez in the summer transfer window for big money. Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are also adept at coming into the team and making a difference.
