New Liverpool away kit to be worn in the friendly pre-season game against Manchester United

Liverpool will wear their new away kit this evening against Manchester United in Thailand in a match that marks the beginning of the pre-season.

According to the Mirror, the new away kit is inspired by the city’s music scene. The primarily white shirt has an iridescent, multi-coloured marbled pattern. It also symbolises the Hillsborough disaster with a 97-emblem encased by eternal flames.

The new away kit follows the principle of sustainability as it is made 100% with recycled polyester fabric that comes from recycled plastic bottles.

The Reds will don the shirt for the first time against arch-rivals Man United. Fans will get the first glimpse of the new kit very soon as our pre-season kicks off in Thailand.

There have been mixed feelings from fans and the reactions are still coming in. The complaint most will have is that the shirt is a bit hard to look at. Some feel the New Balance kits were much classier.

As of now, fans seem disappointed with the new kit. The redeeming factor is the symbolisation of Hillsborough. It’s another way for the club to immortalise the fans.

Our home record was magnificent last season as we went without losing any games at Anfield. The Reds lost two games all season and both came away from home.

While for most teams that record is excellent, for us, those defeats meant we narrowly missed out on the Premier League. Our rivalry against Manchester City in recent years has brought the best out of the team.

Fans will hope the new kit turns out to be a talisman that leads us to more trophies next year. If the team continues the run we have had at home on our away trips, Merseyside will be confident about lifting many more trophies in a year’s time.
