“Getting our connection”- Trent Alexander-Arnold happy to be back on the pitch with Liverpool talisman

Trent Alexander-Arnold happy to be back winning for Liverpool against Crystal Palace, assisting Mohamed Salah

Trent Alexander-Arnold was happy to be back on the pitch, winning for Liverpool against Crystal Palace. After the defeat against Manchester United, the Reds faced the Eagles in Singapore.

The match ended with two goals in the Merseysiders’ favour as Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah found the back of the net. Jurgen Klopp once again gave 32 players a run-in on the pitch.

Speaking with Liverpoolfc.com (h/t Liverpool Echo), Trent was happy to be able to once again link up with the Egyptian. For the second goal, the right-back executed a lovely flick to Salah who slotted the ball in for a goal.

“Obviously the second one, me and Mo linking up on the right side. Just kind of enjoying our football again and getting our connection back [after] a bit of time apart.”

Ever since breaking into the team under Jurgen Klopp in the 2017/18 season, Trent has been competing with the best in terms of providing assists every season. Last season the full-back provided 19 assists in all competitions for Liverpool.

The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the best in his position in the world. Not many have the ability on the ball that the Scouser has. His vision is impeccable.

Trent was glad to be on the pitch with the players. Pre-season is a chance to regain match fitness and the England international looks ready to go into next season once again challenging for trophies.

“It was good to link up with the boys again, good to get an assist and good to get the win, which is the most important thing.”

Liverpool have been one of the best sides in European football for a few years now. Klopp has instilled a sense of work and belief into the club. We’ve had our fair share of success under the German.

The Reds have made it to three Champions League finals over the last five years and won one. We won our first league title in 30 years under Klopp in the 2019/20 season. The Merseyside club are now a force to be reckoned with.
