Transfer News: Liverpool target Paulo Dybala set to join AS Roma
According to Liverpool Echo, Paulo Dybala has been a ‘target’ for Liverpool this summer, after he ran down his contract with Juventus.
The Argentine superstar is one of the hottest properties in the free agent market right now, and it seems that he has decided on his next destination. According to Fabrizio Romano, he has reached a ‘full agreement’ to join AS Roma.
The 28-year-old playmaker is set to sign a three-year-long contract with I Giallorossi. Jose Mourinho was apparently the key factor in making the deal happen.
It seems that the Portuguese coach hasn’t lost his mojo yet. He led them to the UEFA Conference League title last season and aims to make them a force in Serie A once again.
Now that he is seemingly set for a move from Turin to Rome, Reds fans can start to accept the possibility that Dybala may, after all, not come to Liverpool.
Since his move from Instituto AC in 2012, he has spent a decade playing in Italy- first for Palermo, and then, Juventus. Incredibly versatile in attack, Dybala’s passing and dribbling abilities are well known.
But a change in surroundings may have been a bit too overwhelming at this stage in his career. However, that is just a theory, and it isn’t to say that AS Roma are not an attractive destination for players.

A player like Dybala, however, has what it takes to play for a club that competes for the UEFA Champions League and domestic league titles. Perhaps, he can turn Roma into one of those teams again.
