“The best place possible”: Ben Davies happy after leaving Liverpool for Rangers

Ben Davies believes Rangers “best place possible” after leaving Liverpool

Ben Davies was recently announced as a new Rangers player after a £4 million move (including add-ons) from Liverpool. The 26-year-old seems happy with his move to the Glasgow-based club.

Joining Liverpool during the January window in 2021, the English national spent last season on loan at Sheffield United in the Championship. He played in 21 games for the Blades as the Yorkshire-based club missed out on promotion.

Speaking to Rangers TV (h/t Liverpool Echo), Davies is excited for a new chapter in his career. The 26-year-old believes his best days are ahead of him still. The English national also feels the various loan and transfer moves will help him going forward.

Ben Davies is happy with his move to Rangers.

“I’m just about to turn 27 and I want to turn what I think has been a good career into a great one. I’ve got my best years in front of me now.

“All my career, I’ve looked to take different opportunities. Going out on loan, taking moves when they’ve come about and not just staying in my comfort zone. That’s going to help me going forward.”

Davies has played for various sides in various tiers of English football. Preston North End, York City, Fleetwood Town and Newport County are some of the sides the 26-year-old has represented.

The centre-back has featured the most for Preston in his career. Davies featured 145 times for the Lilywhites in four seasons at the Lancashire-based club.

Now, the 25-year-old is ready to make a name for himself in Scotland. The ex-Liverpool defender feels the move will bring the best out of him.

Ben Davies didn’t make a single appearance for Liverpool.

“I think this is the best place possible for me. The expectation, levels and standards that the club has are exceptional and that can only bring the best out of me.”

Rangers are one of the most prestigious clubs in the world. They’re one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, having won a record number of Scottish League Championships.

The Glasgow-based club won their first league title in 10 years in the 2020/21 season. They also made it to the Europa League final last season, just missing out on the European honour.
