Liverpool interested in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus
Liverpool are interested in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, according to Fichajes futbol (h/t Liverpool Echo). The 25-year-old is also on Real Madrid’s radar.
The Reds face competition for the Gladbach midfielder from Los Blancos. Neuhaus featured in 32 games for the Bundesliga side, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
Having signed for Gladbach in 2017, the midfielder spent the season on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf. The 25-year-old has been an ever-present in the middle of the park for Die Fohlen since the 2018/19 season.
Liverpool have an abundance of talent in the midfield for Jurgen Klopp to choose from. Jordan Henderson is the leader of the side. The 32-year-old is the heartbeat in the middle, pressing and helping out on both ends of the pitch.
Fabinho is an out-and-out holding midfielder, either dropping between the defence or moving further up to apply pressure on the opposition. Over the course of his time on Merseyside, the Brazilian has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
A stacked engine room
The other key member of the engine room is Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard has played for the biggest sides in the world and had success. The 31-year-old exudes confidence when he’s on the ball and can pick out sensational passes.
Naby Keita and Curtis Jones have also played an essential role for Klopp in the squad. The Guinean featured more than ever last season as he finally looked settled in the team. Fabio Carvalho has also been deployed in the middle during the pre-season.
Harvey Elliott was also fielded in the midfield at the start of last season. The 19-year-old immediately caught the eye of Klopp. He featured heavily in the first few weeks of last season before an ankle injury hindered his progress.
