Jurgen Klopp leaves door open for possible transfer of Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde to Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is said to be ‘waiting’ for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde at Liverpool. According to Spanish newspaper Nacional, via football365.com (h/t Mirror), the German has left the door open for the Uruguayan’s possible transfer to Anfield.

It is said that Klopp is ‘obsessed’ with the 24-year-old midfielder and that Liverpool are willing to ‘pay whatever it takes’ to bring Valverde to Merseyside.

The gaffer is ‘convinced’ that the Uruguayan will likely move to Anfield sometime in the future, keeping in mind the 24-year-old’s relationship with Carlo Ancellotti. Klopp has ‘left the door wide open for him’ considering the fact that the midfielder is not a guaranteed starter at the Bernabeu.

Valverde is an energetic and versatile midfielder. Liverpool have seen first-hand what the Uruguayan is capable of. The 24-year-old provided the assist for Vinicius Junior’s match-winning goal in the Champions League final.

Liverpool have a stacked midfield

Our midfield currently boasts of some of the world’s best players. Thiago Alcantara has shown his qualities in top sides around Europe. The 31-year-old arrived from Bayern Munich two seasons ago and has made a difference in the middle of the park.

Fabinho has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League for a while now. Having signed from Monaco in 2018, the Brazilian needed a season to settle in but has since been the first name on the team sheet for Klopp.

Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are the other important members of the XI. Last season they both played a huge role in our fight for the quadruple. The Guinean seems to have settled into his role after struggling in previous campaigns.

Liverpool also have many youngsters and a veteran in James Milner ready as backups. It remains to be seen how the German sets the Reds up going into next season.
