Transfer News: Liverpool in the market for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic
Liverpool are back in the transfer market in search of a midfielder and have scouted Inter Milan’s midfield powerhouse, Marcelo Brozovic as a potential target, according to Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Following a disappointing performance against Fulham and injuries to Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Thiago Alcantara, it looks like Jurgen Klopp is ready to enroll a replacement before the transfer window closes.
The Croatian’s name has come to the forefront. Marcelo Brozovic has been an integral part of the Inter Milan resurgence in the coming years which included winning the Scudetto after 11 years.
The Reds are apparently willing to offer him a two-year contract with the option to increase it by another year. Brozovic is a defensive midfielder who is known for his transitions from defence to attack and endless work rate to support it.
Not long after winning the Scudetto in the 2020/21 season with Inter Milan, there was interest in the Croatian midfielder with Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs keen to sign him.
Contrary to the interest in the player, the midfielder was seen as untouchable by the club which rewarded him with a new four-year contract extension for his performance.
Therefore, it will not be the easiest task in the world to prise the midfielder away from the San Siro with his new contract and the value shown to him by his club.
However, it would not be wrong to point out that a move to Anfield and a chance to work with a top coach and world-class players is something that many players cannot say no to.

Hence, if the interest from the Reds materialises into a strong one, it will be interesting to see whether it will be a viable option for us to take away Inter’s prized asset. We are in dire need of a midfielder for squad depth, with Thiago Alcantara’s latest injury adding to Klopp’s woes.
