Real Madrid ready to part ways with UCL winner on Liverpool’s radar

Madrid opens the door wide for Liverpool target Marco Asensio to leave the club

Real Madrid have opened the door for winger Marco Asensio to be made available for a move before the transfer window closes, paving the way for Liverpool to make their move

The Spaniard has been on the radar of Liverpool for some time and with the current injury crisis in the first team up, there might be a move in the making.

According to the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (h/t Liverpool Echo), Asensio is in a complicated situation with Real Madrid with Los Blancos reportedly ready to sell the 26-year-old. It would bring an end to a spell that was ripe with trophies in the Spanish capital.

Marco Asensio was signed by Real Madrid in 2016 from RCD Espanyol and immediately became a fan favourite with his ability to find the back of the net. Much was expected of him following the promising debut season.

It was expected that he will be a mainstay in the team for the future years. However, things have not materialised the way the player or the team would have wanted.

Since his transfer, Asensio has made 235 appearances with 49 goals and 24 assists to his name. With a release clause of £592.5million, it can be argued that Real Madrid rate him very high.

With one year left on his contract, Asensio has to resolve his future soon. With the World Cup approaching, the injury crisis at Liverpool can give him an opportunity to have more game-time, something which he will find difficult with Madrid.

The Premier League season for us has not begun in the manner which we had hoped for. With two draws in the first two games with a list of first-team injuries, a need for attacking reinforcements is surely noticed.

It would be a wise move for Liverpool to consider the Spanish attacker and it is not wrong to acknowledge that there is a proper player in there whose career growth has taken a halt due to serious injuries in the past.

There is a good player in there if developed well, something which is synonymous with Jurgen Klopp plus he will be bringing a lot of experience and winning mentality to the team.
