Liverpool scouts looking at Villarreal’s young Spanish winger Yeremy Pino

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano (h/t Football.london), Liverpool’s scouting team have had a look at Villarreal’s winger, Yeremy Pino, multiple times in the recent past. The 19 year old has also been on the radar of Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Spaniard has 14 goals and five assists across all competitions for Villarreal. The fact that Liverpool have scouted the player displays clear interest in the winger on the club’s part. It is uncertain as to when Liverpool scouted him, as he had a breakthrough in the 2020/21 season.

Chelsea and Arsenal enter the race for Liverpool target Yeremy Pino.

Apart from Liverpool, Pino’s situation at The Yellow Submarine is closely monitored by Arsenal and Chelsea. The London clubs have a good mixture of youth and experience in their respective attacks. With growing speculation that Christian Pulisic of Chelsea will head out to Manchester United on loan, the Blues could also do with the services of a player of Pino’s talent.

Arsenal have a plethora of attackers at their club. After securing the services of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City earlier in the transfer window, the North London club have a threatening look to its attack.

Liverpool thought to have ‘made contact’ with Villarreal for Yeremy Pino.

From a Liverpool point of view, landing Yeremy Pino will essentially just give the Reds a ‘Bench Boost’. At merely 19, it is almost certain that the Spaniard won’t start over Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz or Roberto Firmino.

If the Reds explore the chance of signing Pino, it will just be securing the deal for the future. Instead, the club can pool in the same money to land a midfielder into the squad given the current injury crisis we seem to be going through.

With not long left in the transfer market, the Reds should look elsewhere to find a player suitable for the current situation the club is in. Or rather, save up for the transfer of long-term Liverpool target, Jude Bellingham next summer.
