Liverpool target Moises Caicedo’s social media act excites Liverpool fans

Rumoured Liverpool target Moises Caicedo of Brighton and Hove Albion has further increased transfer speculation by going on and ‘liking’ a tweet which linked him to the Reds.

StudioFutbol (h/t Liverpool Echo) suggested earlier in the week that the Merseyside club were ‘preparing’ a bid for the 20-year-old Ecuador international. In 10 Premier League appearances, the midfielder has one goal and one assist to his name.

Liverpool were heavily linked with a number of midfielders including Caicedo following injuries to the Reds’ starting midfielders. At the moment, Thiago Alcantara alongside Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the sidelined midfielders.

The tweet also ‘linked’ the Ecuadorian to Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal as well. The Reds are in need of a midfielder of his stature more than their rivals at the moment.

The Ecuadorian started in the Seagulls’ 2-0 victory against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday. Graham Potter has maintained that the midfielder who arrived at The Amex just last summer is not for sale, but his social media antics suggest that his head could be swayed by interest from elsewhere.

In the closing stages of the transfer window, it will be extremely tough for any side to get the deal through soon and Liverpool have a task at hand, in case they look to actually sign the player.

Liverpool are almost never injury-free of late and a quality addition like Caicedo might be a great benefit for Jurgen Klopp’s squad. The transfer window ends in less than 2 weeks and Liverpool should act as quick as possible in case the club are truly interested.

Liverpool play Manchester United next at Old Trafford, followed by back-to-back home games against newly promoted Bournemouth and Newcastle United. It remains to be seen if Caicedo joins either of the two teams before the September 1 deadline.

United’s jersey, after all, was also shown in the tweet as mentioned above.
