Liverpool Fabinho gives verdict on Manchester United signing Casemiro

Speaking to the Telegraph (Subscription Required) [h/t Metro], Liverpool midfielder Fabinho Tavares has given his verdict on Manchester United’s potential new signing, Casemiro, who is also his international teammate for Brazil.

“Of course, he will be a good signing. Casemiro is a smart guy, he is a good player, he is strong, he is good in the air, so it will not be hard for him to adapt to the Premier League.”

Fabinho and Casemiro are Brazil’s international teammates and played together as part of Real Madrid’s second team. Both of them are now expected to play in England starting this season.

Casemiro is set to complete his move from Real Madrid to rivals Manchester United for a fee of £59.5m, signing a lucrative long term deal with the club. He left Real Madrid in search of a new experience after winning a ton of silverware with Los Blancos.

We are all aware of Casemiro’s quality and what he can bring to any side. Luckily, for us, he will not be featuring when we travel to Old Trafford for the Derby clash against United.

It will be a big advantage to us as United’s midfield is considerably weaker as compared to Liverpool’s if we take United’s new no. 18 out of the equation.

In spite of the injuries and suspensions at hand, Fabinho is already looking forward to the fixture with an aim to continue the dominance of the past seasons.

“I don’t care if a win pushes them a little bit more into crisis. I just want to beat them and win three points.”

Clearly, Fabinho is not in the mood to mess around and wants to inflict more damage on a side that is currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League.

Liverpool, at the same time, will also be looking for their first win of the season after two draws and with Manchester City dropping points against Newcastle United yesterday, it provides them with a perfect opportunity to catch up on the defending champions.

With both teams desperate for a win, it will be a feisty encounter on Monday night and hopefully, we continue to sustain our dominance of previous seasons over our arch rivals. Thankfully, Casemiro is not expected to make his debut in that game.

We all know how good he can be, witnessing his capabilities first-hand recently in the UEFA Champions League final back in May, when we lost 1-0 to Madrid. But then again, that was Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Ten Hag’s Man United side, meanwhile, is clearly in a spot of bother.
