Mohammad Salah names three Premier League teams that will challenge for the title
On being asked by Sky Sports (h/t Football London), Liverpool forward Mohammad Salah has named Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea alongside Liverpool as the teams that will compete for the 2022/23 Premier League title.
“City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Those three in my opinion.”
Manchester City have won four of the last five titles, with Liverpool winning the remaining one and there have been claims made by pundits and former players that Liverpool and Manchester City are in a league of their own.
However, Mohammad Salah has added Chelsea and Arsenal as the other two top sides who could compete with City and Liverpool for this season’s Premier League title.
The beginning of the season has already seen a different level of competition in the league with teams usually in the lower half of the team challenging the top dogs.
Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have all dropped points with Arsenal the only remaining side in the Premier League to have the perfect streak going on.
It would be wise to acknowledge that Mikel Arteta’s men do look like the part with an impressive showing and are looking as serious contenders for a top position after a very long sabbatical from fighting for the major trophies.
Chelsea, on the other hand, is going through a major overhaul with a change in ownership and have looked off the pace in their games with one win in three matches. Manchester City still boast an impressive showing of winning two out of the three games.
Liverpool have not had the best of start to the season with two draws and are also going through an injury crisis. Salah would be looking to change the stat and aim for three points when Liverpool meets Manchester United on Monday night.
Hence, Mohammad Salah might be correct in his judgment of the teams that will challenge the title. However, as we have seen with the performances of the teams outside the top 6 and a major portion of the season still to go, the title race can shift in anyone’s favour.

For us, the only thing that should concern us would be to not think too much about the title race and take one match as it comes and hopefully we would be in a position to fight for the title come the end of the season.
