Neymar lavishes praise on Liverpool talisman Virgil Van Dijk
Speaking in an interview to DAZN Canada via Youtube, Neymar was asked about his opinion on Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk and the Brazilian ace had only good things to say about the Dutchman.
Asked what it’s like to face Virgil Van Dijk, Neymar admitted that it is a tough task considering the defender is strong with amazing anticipation of the game.
Virgil Van Dijk can be regarded as one of the best signings for Liverpool in the Jurgen Klopp era and instantly uplifted the standards of the team upon his joining.
He was instrumental in Liverpool’s successes in the UEFA Champions League title and Premier League title and for his performances, was in contention for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.
Va Dijk’s performances have earned him getting named alongside legends of the game and there are no arguments over the defender’s ability and talent, as has been mentioned by numerous world-class attackers. However, Van Dijk has looked unimpressive in the current outings with average performances for his standard.
The Dutch national team captain has been caught out on multiple positions in the league and was leading the defence in the embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the recent UEFA Champions League game.
