Real Madrid are set to bid for Liverpool target Joao Gomes
According to ESPN journalist Martin Liberman via his Twitter account, Real Madrid are the latest side to show an interest in Flamengo’s wonderkid Joao Gomes, who had previously stated his desire to play for Liverpool.
It is claimed that Madrid are keen to add the Brazilian midfielder to their ranks and make him the latest player to make the switch from Brazil to Madrid after Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo and Reinier Jesus.
It is somewhat peculiar how Madrid and Liverpool are settling on common future targets with the Spanish club also keen on Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, a player who is of high priority interest for us.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Brazilian midfielder for the entirety of the summer transfer window, mainly due to the plague of injuries suffered in midfield at the beginning of the season.
We went ahead and signed Arthur Melo on a loan deal from Juventus to cover the deficit however in all likelihood, the need for a new midfielder still persists.
Jurgen Klopp has turned Liverpool into one of the world’s best teams and it is no surprise that many players desire to be part of the club.
Joao Gomes has publicly stated his desire to join Liverpool which he describes as his dream club. At just 21 years of age, Gomes has already established himself as a starter with the Flamengo squad having already made 106 appearances for the club with three goals and assists to his name.

Although the midfielder signed a recent contract extension with the Brazilian club, it would be wise to say that it is highly unlikely that he stays at the club for a longer duration, with top clubs already circling around.
Liverpool would have to be decisive in the coming transfer window before Real Madrid or Manchester United move forward and secure the Brazilian signing who has publicly stated his desire to join the club.
