Jose Enrique suggests Liverpool swap Naby Keita for Jude Bellingham
Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique, who wore the Red of Merseyside from 2011-2016, suggested via Twitter that the club swap Naby Keita to secure the services of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
The Spaniard who featured 99 times for the Reds believes that there is an extremely simple solution to the transfer dilemma that the club is currently facing. Liverpool’s interest in Jude Bellingham might be the worst-kept secret in recent football history.
And now, news emerges that the Englishman’s club, Borussia Dortmund, is keeping tabs on Naby Keita, who still has around less than a year left on his current Liverpool contract. Enrique believes that the clubs could find a solution by swapping these players from one club to the other.
Keita has struggled for consistency and game time at Liverpool owing to multiple injury-related issues. The Guinean, since making his high-profile move from RB Leipzig to Merseyside back in 2018 has not been able to cement a place in the Reds’ starting XI. One could argue that he has definitely not been worth Liverpool’s £52m.
Bellingham, on the other hand, has been drawing interest from all of Europe’s elite clubs, including the likes of Real Madrid. However, it is said that Liverpool are leading the chase to sign the highly sought-after 19-year-old.
Bellingham put in a Man-of-the-Match performance very recently against Germany in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Wembley. The quality and skill level of the player is certainly unquestionable. The only worrying factor is the £131.6m valuation by Dortmund.
Liverpool are not exactly known for their expansive spending habits. Whether FSG opts to spend so much on a single player, is something only time would answer.

Even in the scenario that a swap deal is accepted, Liverpool would certainly have to pay a considerable amount of money. There would certainly exist a difference in valuation between Jude Bellingham and Naby Keita, and the Reds would have to pay the balance.
