Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool ace Andy Robertson will return from injury against Rangers
According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that defender Andy Robertson will be in the squad which travels to Ibrox Stadium for their UEFA Champions League fixture against Rangers.
“Robbo is in the squad for tomorrow.
It’s good Robbo is back but not that he’ll be in the team.”
Liverpool have been unlucky with injuries and Robertson was one the major culprits of it after suffering from a knee injury sustained against Napoli in the opening game of the UEFA Champions League.
With a dismal result against Arsenal in the league on the weekend, it is crucial that we secure a good result in the European tie and cement our place further for the knockout rounds.
Robertson’s comeback from injury is certainly a piece of good news which has been rather rare at the club presently, with Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip all sustaining new injuries and out of contention.
Jurgen Klopp must be wondering over his luck that Liverpool, who have been one of the most dominant sides the past few seasons, have become a shadow of their former self.
With recurring injuries to key players, it is hard to maintain consistency and rhythm of the team and we would be going back to face Rangers after facing a loss again.
Hence, Robertson’s comeback will give a certain boost to the side and he would need to play a big card for us to go through the coming fixtures. Kostas Tsimikas has deputed well in the Scottish’s absence however Robertson provides more than just sublime crosses into the box.
With his tenacity and energy to go up and down the flanks and not being scared to take the game to the opposition, he is a big part of the Liverpool back four and was sorely missed by the team during his spell on the sidelines.

Since sealing a transfer from Hull City, Robertson has transformed into one of the best overlapping fullbacks in the game and a big source of outlet for Jurgen Klopp’s team. In his 232 appearances for the club, he has contributed to an impressive 63 G/A and is when fit, the club’s first-choice left-back.
We are in dire need of a good performance and result against Rangers to give some confidence to the players ahead of a crucial tie against Manchester City on the weekend.
