Manchester City icon Sergio Kun Aguero believes Liverpool will bounce back under manager Jurgen Klopp
Speaking in an interview with Stake.com as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Manchester City legend Sergio Kun Aguero believes that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have what it takes to bounce back and become as competitive as ever as the season goes on.
The former Barcelona and Manchester City striker feels that Liverpool have been rather unlucky with injuries which has really disrupted their rhythm but once they sort things out, the Reds can be unstoppable.
Liverpool sit 10th in the Premier League at the time of writing this, 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal. Klopp’s men have a huge mountain to claim but if there is any team who can do that, it has to be the Reds.
Their task is not going to get any easier, with the Reds set to face a high-flying Manchester City side and a rampant Erling Haaland. If this season has to turn around for the Reds, it’s now or never.
Last night’s performance against the Rangers was arguably Liverpool’s best this season and Klopp will be hoping to build on that. If the Reds can get a result against the unbeaten Man City, people will start believing in the team again.
Kun Aguero, a Man City legend also thinks that the Reds can turn it around although he will be hoping that it does not happen against his former team.
“Their offense had some turnover and they’ve been unlucky with injuries. I believe that they’ll recover gradually and become as competitive as ever. I wouldn’t count them out, particularly with a capable manager that can bounce back from a bad start like the one they have”
One of the things that will really excite Liverpool is the return to form of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian superstar scored the fastest hat trick in Champions League history against the Scottish giants last night.
However, what has really haunted the Reds this season is their defensive frailties. For all their dominance last night, they still found a way to concede the first goal. This is an undesirable pattern that Klopp will be looking to arrest.
