Transfer News: Liverpool face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea for Jeremy Doku
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Liverpool.com), rivals Arsenal and Chelsea have joined Liverpool in pursuing Jeremy Doku.
The Reds have been interested in the 20-year-old for some time now, with the Stade Rennais man catching the eyes of the Liverpool scouts. He even visited Melwood before opting against a move to Merseyside.
However, they are no longer alone in their pursuit as two Premier League rivals are also now interested in the Belgium Under-21 winger.
Doku signed for the French side in 2020 for around €26 million. A club paying so much for the then-18-year-old shows that they believe he has huge potential.
Since then he has been a regular for the French side. He has played seven games this season in all competitions, but he has yet to find the back of the net.
An experienced winger, Jurgen Klopp could do with someone like him in his side. Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are both injured, leaving Mohamed Salah as the only natural winger in the team.
Doku could be signed in January to help add depth to the squad. But considering the amount the French side spent on signing him, they could demand a good amount to make some profit after such a huge investment.
