Virgil van Dijk talks about Jurgen Klopp in the Liverpool Dressing room
It is no breaking news that Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp is a very expressive personality. He tends to speak what is on his mind and never shies off when it comes to a verbal confrontation. It is natural for the German to stay the same figure even when in the dressing room.
Not very long ago, Klopp was also subject to a reprimand by the FA for excessive appeals against Manchester City. That is just proof that Jurgen is one of the more expressive ones when it comes to managers in the Premier League.
It now seems that Virgil van Dijk agrees as well. The Dutchman, who joined the Reds back in 2018 would probably know a thing or two more than anyone else about how the gaffer is in the dressing room.
Speaking exclusively on Gary Neville’s show on Youtube, Van Dijk opened up about how Klopp tends to shout a lot in the dressing room and gave a subtle cover-up on it as well:
“He shouts a lot. The thing I like is that when someone does that it’s because they really care about you or the situation and want to make sure it improves or get anyone else sharper. I really enjoy that in a certain way and it helps me personally.”
Obviously, for someone as hungry for success as Klopp, things on the pitch and in the club generally need to be followed down to a T. The German is a very emotional person, and it does not come as a surprise for anyone who follows the club the information that Klopp can, at times, be loud in the dressing room.
Van Dijk also shares the information in good humour and it’s not anything to bother about. It just puts into words what most of our fans know – that the players get a proper earful when the results don’t come. As warm as Klopp can be with his hugs, he is an equally intimidating coach when it calls for it.

However, things are not pleasant at the moment in terms of the environment at the club as Liverpool recently lost a league fixture to Nottingham Forest even though they were clear favourites to win before kick-off.
However, if there is someone who every Kopite trusts to turn things around is Klopp. The German has seen much tougher moments in his managerial career, and godspeed, the Reds come back to form as soon as possible.
