Son Heung-min ruled out of Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur with a head injury

Liverpool have got a major boost in their game against Tottenham Hotspur with Son Heung-min’s injury against Marseille in the UEFA Champions League, ruling him out of the clash this weekend. In order to stabilise the fracture around his left eye, Spurs’ boss Antonio Conte said that surgery is a must. A timeframe has not been made clear yet. But for sure, he would not be a part of the squad against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Son is a proven Premier League winger and shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah last season. Even with his inconsistencies this season, he can be a match-winner for the North London outfit.

Apart from the winger, striker Richarlison and winger Dejan Kulusevski also will be unavailable for the fixture against Liverpool which is all the more good news for the Merseysiders.

The Reds will themselves be without the services of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota in terms of attackers. They would be cornered to play a filler in the left-wing position. Curtis Jones might feature in the position, as he did against Napoli and excelled in his role as well.

Liverpool will have a glimmer of confidence in themselves after ending Napoli’s winning streak and would hope to carry on the momentum into the Premier League as well. Currently struggling in the ninth position, the Reds would hope to race towards the top four.
