Liverpool face off against several European heavyweights to sign Las Palmas starlet Alberto Moleiro

According to Spanish publication MundoDeportivo (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool face stiff competition to sign highly-rated Las Palmas gem Alberto Moleiro with many other top clubs interested in the Spaniard.

Moleiro is one of the most highly-rated Spanish gems going around right now and a number of top clubs want to snap up the teenager at a very early stage. Liverpool are one among them and are showing interest in Moleiro.

They are not alone, however, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund all set to rival the Reds for the teenage sensation and this will not be easy for Liverpool to pull off.

When so many top clubs are interested in a 19-year-old playing in the second division of Spanish football, it is an indication of how highly they hold him and the potential that the midfielder possesses.

Las Palmas are known to produce gems like Moleiro now and then. The last truly spectacular player who came out of the Spanish second-division team was Barcelona midfield sensation Pedri and we all know how that transfer turned out.

Predominantly an attacking midfielder, Moleiro is comfortable playing on either wing as well. He has played 15 games for Las Palmas this season during which he has provided three assists across all competitions.

It is being claimed that the teenage wonderkid has a €30million release clause although that could double should his side gain promotion to the first division. Teams interested in him will want to snap him up for a lower fee.

It is not very clear if Liverpool will be able to convince Moleiro to come to England when clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid in his home country are also showing interest in the player and it could be a tough road ahead.

Moleiro is rated very highly for a reason. However, this is a transfer battle where a lot of things will have to go their way for Liverpool to sign the player. Let’s wait and see how this one develops.
