Jurgen Klopp pushing hard to sign Liverpool target and England star Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is pushing hard for the signing of the club’s top target and England star Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.
The race for the 19-year-old is between three top teams, including the Merseysiders, Manchester City and Real Madrid. Premier League rivals Manchester United’s chances have deteriorated.
However, for the Reds, Financial Fair Play is going to be a factor in acquiring the midfielder’s signature. The 19-time English top-flight winners will not pay over the top for the BVB star. Currently, he is being touted at around €150 million.
Liverpool are evidently looking to bolster the middle of the park in the upcoming transfer windows. And while Bellingham is at the top of the list, the Reds have two other unnamed players from South America on their radar.
The 19-year-old joined Dortmund in the summer of 2020 from Birmingham City. And since then, the midfielder has developed into a quality star. At such a young age, the England international is already one of the best midfielders out there.
In the current campaign, Bellingham seems to have taken his game up a notch. The 19-year-old has been a pivotal member of Edin Terzic’s starting lineup. His performances in the Champions League have caught the eyes of many people.
The BVB star is currently in Qatar with the Three Lions. On his World Cup debut against Iran, the midfielder scored England’s opening goal. He also started for Gareth Southgate’s team in their 0-0 draw against the United States of America on Friday (25 November).
In the current campaign, Liverpool have struggled with injuries in the middle of the park. The likes of Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Arthur Melo have all spent time on the sidelines.

Thus, the Red evidently need to add reinforcements to the ageing engine room. And Bellingham’s age and talent make him a compelling buy for the Merseysiders. But whether we are able to afford him remains to be seen.
