Luis Diaz update as Liverpool handed a huge injury boost
Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is apparently now ready to return to team training. The Reds will head to Dubai for a mid-season training camp which starts on Monday (5th December) and Lucho could well and truly be part of the same.
The left-winger injured his knee against Arsenal in the early weeks of October and has seen himself sidelined since. One of Liverpool’s best players in the early part of the season, one could argue that Liverpool’s league standings could have possibly been better if he was available to play.
In 12 appearances across all competitions until his injury, he accumulated four goals and three assists. Even though the numbers are not astonishing by any means, one would know by watching Liverpool that he was the only player who was on song with the rest of the team not on the same wavelength.
According to The Athletic, Lucho’s recovery has been perfect and could return to team training as soon as possible. This is excellent news for the Reds as they were not at their best before the World Cup break, at least domestically, and Diaz could obviously change that.
Diaz Delight for Liverpool
Diaz’s work rate is immaculate, and in a short span at Merseyside, he has grown to become a fan favourite and is one of the author’s favourite players at the club, and in general as well. All in all, in 38 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, Diaz has 10 goals and eight assists.
It will only be a year since he would have joined the squad in January hopefully, we have not seen the best of Diaz yet. He has been an excellent replacement for Sadio Mane, and hopefully, he returns back stronger from his injury.
Diaz will in all likelihood play against AC Milan and Lyon in the mid-season friendlies in Dubai, and fingers crossed, he starts where he left off.
