Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara talks about the importance of the next half of the campaign
Thiago Alcantara has been one of Liverpool’s key players ever since his move from Bayern Munich to Merseyside back in 2020. His creative output has been of great importance to the squad, but the fact that he is injury prone has been a bit derailing for Liverpool.
In 83 appearances for the Reds across all competitions, he has three goals and five assists. Even though he is not a major goal contributor on the pitch, his ability to control the tempo of the game and more so, his creative output is of much more significance to the Reds.
He recently scored a beautiful goal against AC Milan in the Dubai Super Cup club-friendly yesterday and after the game, spoke about carrying the momentum generated from the friendlies deep into the season.
Speaking to the club’s official website about carrying the momentum into the second half of the campaign, and what the Reds need to work hard on, here are his words:
“I think everything. As a football player, as now a Liverpool player and as a Liverpool fan, I think we have to improve everything. So, we have to achieve all trophies possible, we have start again the chase for first position – we know it’s tough – but we have other competitions as well so we are trying to chase everything.”
Thiago talks about improving in the second half
Liverpool did not enjoy the best start to their league campaign and hence, they would have valued their time off from football a lot. Starting afresh, every fan would hope that the Reds go in all guns blazing to get the best out of themselves after regular club football resumes.
The Reds are currently sitting in the sixth position on the points table and will hope to climb up the ladder soon, in order to secure Champions League football next season. And as Thiago said, the Reds will have it trying to chase every title.
Thiago’s contributions have been vital to Liverpool’s success in recent seasons and he will continue to be a crucial player as they look to finish the campaign strongly.
