Liverpool join the race to sign Birmingham City starlet George Hall

According to the Mirror, Liverpool have joined Everton in the race to land Birmingham City player George Hall. The 18-year-old is a product of their academy and is capable of playing multiple roles in midfield.

He has been a regular in the Championship side’s midfield this season and has 20 appearances for the Brummies. As far as his goal contributions are concerned, he has a goal and an assist to his name as well.

Notably, another Birmingham City academy graduate is on the Reds’ radar. The player is currently plying his trade in Germany for Borussia Dortmund, and there are absolutely no brownie points for guessing who this star is. Hint: His name starts with Jude and ends with Bellingham.

Leeds United also want to secure the services of the player and the central midfielder could possibly be in for a huge switch over the summer. In summary, Liverpool have been struggling with their midfield issues with poor form and an ageing squad at the core of the Reds’ problems this season.

Apart from Thiago and Harvey Elliott, who are on a totally different tangent compared to the rest of their teammates this season, there seems to be no cohesion in the rest of the squad which is certainly causing irregularities in midfield and eventually in defence.

At such a time, a young midfielder like Hall who can certainly be a long-term project seems like a wise decision. But more importantly, at the moment, we need players who can create an impact from the get-go and help the Reds in their pursuit of a top-four finish this season.

If Hall signs for the Reds and is able to develop and improve his skills over time could become a key player for the team, in the long run. This can aid Liverpool in maintaining a strong and competitive squad.
