Soon after he scored five goals in Preston North End’s 6-1 win over Rotherham United in the FA Youth Cup, Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile has been making the headlines, and as per The Mirror, both Liverpool and Manchester United share an interest in securing the services of the 16-year-old.

The player, who can play for both Argentina and Brazil as he holds dual nationality, has 18 goals in his last 10 games including four hat-tricks. He has been absolutely brilliant for his age, and naturally, has caught the attention of two of the biggest clubs in the country.

The manager Ryan Lowe, speaking to Lancs Live talked about how the club is planning to integrate the teenage sensation into the first team sooner than later, and also talked about keeping the player low-key as the pressure might get to him with the hype.

The Reds themselves have a number of youngsters coming up the Academy ranks including Stefan Bajcetic, who featured against Manchester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Ben Doak is an exciting name and so is Oakley Cannonier, who are both performing beyond expectations for the Academy.

Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile is a future star

Alex Inglethorpe, the current manager of the Academy at Kirkby has been fantastic in integrating the youngsters with regular football action, and a number of those players were part of the mid-season training camp in Dubai earlier this month as well.

The addition of a new figure like Rodriguez-Gentile cannot be possibly ruled out but understandably, Preston would want to keep him on their books for as long as possible given the fact that he joined the Lilywhites only this October.

Having said that, if he keeps up with the consistency and the talent he has shown for his age, he could certainly be a star in the future as young players have the potential to develop and improve their skills over time, which can help them become key players for the team.
