Liverpool target Youssoufa Moukoko refuses to be pressured into making a transfer decision

According to The Mirror, Liverpool and Barcelona transfer target and Borussia Dortmund starlet, Youssoufa Moukoko will not be pressured into making a decision on his future.

This comes after certain reports from Germany stated that the youngster has failed to agree to a new deal at the WestfalenStadion. The teenager has now hit back at the accusations and has hinted that he is the master of his own destiny.

“Please, do not believe everything that is in the newspaper.”

Just 18 years old, Moukoko has already amassed 59 games for Dortmund at the senior level, scoring 11 goals and assisting nine more. Much of it has come in the 2022-23 season, convincing bigger clubs across Europe that the youngster is the real deal.

Moukoko was also picked for Germany’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. While the European giants crashed out in the group stage and limited Moukoko to just one minute of action, the experience would have been invaluable.

He is not letting any of his early successes go to the head and is keen to take a measured approach regarding his future. Any team trying to pressurise the 18-year-old is unlikely to come out trumps.

“I know that everything is part of the football business now, but although I am young, I do not let myself be pressured to make decisions about my future.”

Moukoko’s full attention is now to see the season out with Dortmund. Still raw around the edges and with much to learn, he is better off developing his game before taking it elsewhere. Apart from Barcelona and Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with him.

Liverpool have brought in two ace attackers in the last two transfer windows – Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez respectively. Cody Gakpo is set to add to that list in the coming days as the Reds kick off 2023 with a bang.

Moukoko is an exciting talent but is not a priority for Liverpool at the moment. As things stand, the Reds are unlikely to be a side that will try to pressurise him anytime soon.
