Transfer News: Jude Bellingham urged to make a move to Real Madrid over Liverpool
Former West Ham United midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has urged Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham to make a move to Real Madrid over Liverpool.
Both clubs have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old, who is currently one of the most sought-after players on the continent. The two sides have been heavily touted as the next possible destination for the youngster who is believed will make a move this summer.
And now, former Hammer’s midfielder Reo-Coker, while speaking on BBC, has urged the England international to choose the 14-time European Champions over a move to Merseyside.
“You look at the other suitors – if I was Bellingham, I would go to Real Madrid. I would look at what Real Madrid are doing, what they are building, what they’ve got there, the young talent and what can be achieved, and I would go there. I would not go to Liverpool.”
Los Blancos have been in recent windows snapping up some of the best talents from around the world as they look to secure multiple departments for years to come. While Luka Modric is still one of the best in the world, a long-term successor is needed and the former Birmingham City man could be that for the Spanish giants.
Jurgen Klopp, on the other hand, has the problem of an ageing midfield. The current midfield consists of players like Jordan Henderson and James Milner who are still a regular for the club, while Naby Keita has a place on the bench.
A talented midfielder is needed to pivot the preferred three-man midfield and there are few players better than the 19-year-old currently. Since moving to the Bundesliga, the Three Lions international has seen his stock and admirers rise every day.
However, he will not come cheap and the Reds should be prepared to spend big. Even then, there is the problem of convincing the player to choose us over Real, something that has always proven to be a herculean task not only for us but for many clubs in Europe.
