Liverpool making overtures to sign 24-year-old French attacker from the Bundesliga

Liverpool are knocking on the door to sign Randal Kolo Muani

According to RMC Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are said to be knocking on the door to sign France and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.

The 24-year-old caught the eye of quite a few clubs during his World Cup stint in Qatar. He scored in the semi-final against Morocco and made the difference for France in the final and won the penalty that got them back in the game.

Even before the World Cup, big European clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have expressed their interest

in the 24-year-old. He is valued at around £53m at the moment.

The former Nantes youngster is a centre-forward by trade but can play on either side of the forward line and is able to play as a second striker as well.

He joined Frankfurt in the preceding summer window and has done well in his first season in the Bundesliga.

In all competitions for the German side, Kolo Muani scored eight goals and assisted 11 in 23 appearances in all competitions.

With regard to his attributes, the 24-year-old possesses good pace, great physical strength against defenders, excellent dribbling skills and is a good all-round striker who can both score and assist goals.

While all that is good, Liverpool have just signed Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven to further strengthen their forward line. We have Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez fighting for the number nine, while Diogo Jota will join the race once he is back fit.

More Liverpool News:

There is no denying that Kolo Muani is a good player, but if we are to spend any more money in January, it has to be in the midfield department. We are crying out for even a decent midfielder this month to have the squad fit to challenge for a top-four finish.
