Real Madrid give Liverpool a huge boost in Jude Bellingham pursuit
Liverpool have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Jude Bellingham. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti spoke about how much confidence he has in his current set of midfielders, and does not see the need of dipping into the market for other players including Bellingham.
Just in the last summer window, Los Blancos beat the Reds to the signature of Aurelien Tchouameni. The Frenchman could have solved several problems the Merseysiders are facing this season when it comes to the midfield. The Reds cannot potentially lose out on another major midfield target for the second summer in a row.
Both, Liverpool and Real Madrid saw themselves extensively linked with a move for Bellingham in recent times. Ancelotti’s admission gives the Reds somewhat of a clear path in their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund star.
Coming in from the Metro, Carlo said more than just a few things when prompted about a move for any player in the upcoming weeks, and spoke of Jude as well. Here are his words:
“There are a lot of youngsters, like Enzo [Fernandez], and a lot of midfielders who are coming through, some of them Spanish.’’
‘‘Jude Bellingham is one of them, but I’ll stick with my midfielders, who are very good, especially the youngsters, like Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouameni. We have a lot of young players.’’
Liverpool to go all-in on Jude?
We should certainly thank our stars that Real Madrid’s manager realised the depth he has in midfield. Or else, he would have snatched the only hope Liverpool have of transforming the middle of their park by taking away Jude as far from Anfield as possible.
Even in the case that the former Birmingham City star wants to join the Reds, the club should be ready to spend the big bucks on him, going up to the £120m mark. With the current form in midfield, we can do with Bellingham’s services almost immediately.
Most of Liverpool’s central midfielders are over the age of 31, and those who are not, are not the finished product yet, and handling the pivot in a transitioning squad like ours could certainly come too early for the likes of Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho.
