Liverpool target Jude Bellingham to ‘reject new contract’ at Borussia Dortmund
In what could potentially shape Liverpool FC’s future, the Reds’ primary summer transfer target Jude Bellingham stands set to ‘reject a new contract’ offer from Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old’s present deal with the German outfit lasts until 2025 via Transfermarkt.
This would certainly be a mouth-watering prospect for other teams on the lookout for the player. The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City would be wagging their tails around Bellingham’s situation alongside Liverpool.
There are no doubts over the fact that 2023 will certainly bring a lot of change to Liverpool. Hopefully, those changes include a midfield revamp as well. With our league standings this season and the form of the midfielders, it is absolutely essential to get Jude on board.
The Daily Star reports that Bellingham is considering rejecting a new contract offer from Dortmund. Doing so is likely to drive up interest from other clubs in acquiring his services.
According to the same reports, Dortmund is offering Bellingham a salary of £180,000 a week, which is a significant sum of money. However, despite this attractive offer, the reports add that Bellingham will reject it in favour of pursuing a move to a new club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Closer to Reality
In case this is true, the Reds should be quick to seize the opportunity and make an offer to Die Schwarzbelgen to let go of Bellingham. £131m and thereabouts would be sufficient to secure his services, but that is a lot of money for FSG.
It is extremely important for the owners to understand that the team is on a decline and we need young guns to help preserve the successful status of the club and play for Liverpool in the long-term future as well and there is hardly anyone who could fill in better than Bellingham.
