Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has signed a new deal with the club which runs till 2027
As confirmed by Liverpool Echo and the official club website, Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has signed a new deal with the club that runs till 2027.
The current season has been surprising for some with a lot of under-par performances from key players that reflect the standing in the league.
However, one bright aspect of the season has been the breakthrough of Spanish teenager Bajcetic, who has impressed since his rise from the Academy to the first team.
Rightly so he deserved a new deal that now confirms his stay with the club for many coming years and goes in line with the new club policy of retaining key young talents. Speaking on his contract extension, he told the official club website:
“Obviously I’m so, so happy, so excited to keep playing for this club and hopefully I can play more years together. Me and my family are very proud to sign a new contract with this club.
“It feels amazing. It’s something I’ve been dreaming of in these two years I’ve been here and something that I’ve been working hard [for] as well.”
Harvey Elliott signed a long deal last summer, the same as Curtis Jones while Tyler Morton also signed a new deal, Elliott is next in line to be part of the prodigies to lead the first team in the coming years.
A holding midfielder by nature, Bajcetic has not looked out of place on all occasions being called off by Jurgen Klopp and will only get better with time.
On the other hand, this season has made us all realise the value of having a top midfield, having seen both the rise and fall of not having one.
While there are big shouts and speculations of the club going heavy on a new midfielder in the summer transfer window, retaining one of our exciting talents who can form part of the midfield in the coming years was key.

The new improved deal would surely cement Bajectic’s position as part of the first team and at the same time allow January signing Cody Gakpo to be registered for the UEFA Champions League squad as Bajcetic is eligible to be moved to the List B squad.
