Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam says Darwin Nunez will ‘get better’

The Reds’ Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez faces a lot of slack online for missing the chances he does and the Liverpool fans do not seem too bothered with the situation. The 23-year-old striker, even with “bad form” has 10 goals and three assists in 24 appearances for the Reds across all competitions.

However, there is no denying the fact that these numbers could’ve been much bigger if he converted each of his chances. But that is common for every player, isn’t it? His first season in the Premier League from the Portuguese first division and he will obviously take time as he isn’t a robot like a certain other summer incoming.

There is still loads of scope for improvement in terms of composure but the way in which Darwin times his runs and makes the final push beyond the last defender to constantly find himself in loads of space is truly remarkable.

Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam had a few words to say about Darwin and here is what he told Grosvenor Sport via Liverpool Echo:

“It usually takes the foreign players six months to settle and it could even take Darwin a year but I believe he will be a better player next season [than he was when he arrived at Liverpool].”

“I’ve no doubt that Jurgen Klopp is happy with what Nunez is bringing to the table. He signed for a lot of money and it’s natural for him to feel pressure if he misses chances.”

Nunez for the Reds

Even though he is not yet consistently scoring or assisting goals, Nunez has the potential to be a key player for Liverpool in the future, with strong energy and attacking drive, as well as the ability to score goals. As he gains more experience and game time, he will continue to improve and will start to contribute more in terms of goal output as well.

Despite the challenges, Nunez has already shown flashes of brilliance since his arrival at Liverpool. He is a talented player with a great understanding of the game and a keen eye for goal. He has been a constant threat to opposing defences and has created a number of chances for his teammates.
