Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool are leading the race for Jude Bellingham
Fabrizio Romano appeared on YouTube channel Born and Red on Monday and named Liverpool as the club who are currently leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The Reds have shown the most interest in the young English talent and are set to make a move for him in the summer transfer window. Bellingham has been a standout player for Dortmund since joining the club from Birmingham City.
The teenager has taken his game to a whole new level this season. A case can be made for Bellingham being the best player in the Bundesliga and also had a great World Cup with England.
His performances have earned him a lot of praise, and he has been linked with a move to some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Romano mentioned the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid also in the race.
Romano did admit that Liverpool fans must take this update with a pinch of salt as nothing is certain until the contracts are signed. Bellingham to Anfield would be the dream but it definitely is not easy.

“Today? I would mention Liverpool. But we know how these transfers can change. For example, if you asked me one year ago about Erling Haaland, I probably was not going to say Manchester City. In March? Yes. But in January, no because it was still open”
“So today Liverpool are leading the race but the race is still absolutely open. And when you are in the race with Real Madrid and Manchester City, it’s never a safe race until you sign the contracts.”
The Reds are known for their ability to develop young talent, and Bellingham’s potential has not gone unnoticed by Jürgen Klopp and his team. Bellingham has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the world.
His energy, work rate and technical ability have caught the eye of many observers, and he has been compared to some of the greats of the game. Whilst it may be too soon to say all that, what we can conclude right now is that the Dortmund teenager is a special player.
