Jurgen Klopp reveals that Liverpool superstar is struggling to keep up with decisive Anfield changes

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Mohamed Salah is suffering to adapt to a changing front-three at Liverpool

Jürgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool Football Club, has recently admitted to the Daily Mail that star player Mohamed Salah is struggling to adapt to the new front-three formation that includes Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.

In previous seasons, Salah formed a deadly partnership with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. The three players formed one of the most feared front lines in world football, scoring an impressive number of goals and assists between them.

Mane has since left the club to join Bayern Munich. The Senegalese superstar was a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s teams and has left a huge void. Firmino, although he has grown out of relevance in recent times is still at the club.

Injuries and personnel changes have meant that Salah has been the only constant in the front line for Liverpool with Darwin Nunez, Roberto Firmino, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota all rotating in and out due to injuries.

Klopp acknowledged that this is a problem and stated that Salah is struggling to adapt to his new role in the team. The German manager went on to say that this is a normal process for any player and that it takes time for players to settle into a new system and find their rhythm.

Speaking about the situation, here is what the German manager had to say about how Salah can turn it around.

“Of course Mo is suffering.“It was a well-drilled machine the front three, everything was clear what we were doing. Everybody suffers from that. That’s clear. It is specific, offensive play that requires a lot of work and lot of information, and not always obvious information”

The lack of chemistry between the new front three has been one of the striking issues that are troubling the Reds. The club has struggled in recent months, and the goals have dried up, which has added to the pressure on Salah.

The Egyptian has surely not been the worst Liverpool player out there but he is nowhere near the levels that he showed in the first half of last season. It is a subsequence of the team not playing to their potential.

With time, the front three will start to click better provided there is continuity in team selection. Let’s see how it goes.
