Former Red Jose Enrique puts out tweet after Liverpool lose 3-0 to Wolves

Prior to the game against Julen Lopetegui’s side at the Molineux, even if one would have expected a tough night for Liverpool, a 3-0 loss at the hands of Wolves is certainly not something that would’ve crossed anyone’s mind.

Credit where due, Wolves capitalized wherever the Reds misfired and the scoreline is an accurate representation of the same. Defenders were all over the place, the midfield lacked energy apart from Stefan Bajcetic and without service, the attackers were as useless as anything.

Joel Matip was among the players who were completely off-colour and it was astonishing to see the Cameroonian put in such a wrong step given his usual levels of consistency when available to feature. No Liverpool fan would be remotely happy with the result and so is the case with Jose Enrique.

Enrique put out a tweet doubting whether Liverpool would be able to finish in the top half of the table given their horrendous form in the league this season and the loss to Wolves added to that as well. Here is what he posted.

Liverpool lost 3-0 to wolves away from home.

Tough Road ahead for the Reds

Even though he posted during half-time, the tweet totally makes sense after the full-time whistle as well. This is easily the toughest period under Jurgen Klopp for the Reds and even the gaffer cannot seem to do anything about the situation.

A lack of squad depth also coinciding with the issue of inconsistent performances has led the Reds down this season. The lack of proper leadership at the back with Virgil van Dijk’s absence in the last few games means that the Reds are yet to register their first win of 2023.

Some sections of the fanbase alongside blaming FSG for their lack of investment seem to be on the back of the gaffer as well. Even though Liverpool should not be losing to Wolves in any scenario, let alone with that scoreline, Klopp can only get results when the manager at such a top club stands financially backed like most of our rivals.

At last, from the positions we are in we can only speak and hope for something to change. Unless the management and the owners actually want better results, we have to certainly cope with what is thrown at us. Tough Road Ahead, buckle up Reds.
