Jurgen Klopp dismisses Liverpool departure after 2-0 win against Everton
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed the idea of stepping down at this moment after the Reds beat arch-rivals Everton 2-0 in the Merseyside derby.
The Toffees visited Anfield on Monday (13 February) in the Premier League. Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo found the back of the net to hand us a massive three points in a crutch game.
Speaking to the media after the win via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Klopp urged fans to have faith in him during this tough period. The German is confident of being able to turn things around at the club.
“If people believe in me, then we will go through this together. We will have great times again. I will not and I cannot go. I’ve too much responsibility. It’s difficult times but this club is special because we believe.”
The former Borussia Dortmund head coach was appointed as the manager of Liverpool in 2015 after the departure of Brendan Rodgers. He had a successful stint in Germany before moving to England.
In Klopp’s first season, the Reds did not progress much. However, over the years, the German has gradually transformed us into one of the best teams in the world.
Subsequently, the Anfield side have made it to three Champions League finals. We lifted the prestigious European title in 2019 after beating Tottenham Hotspur. The Merseyside outfit then went on to win the league after a 30-year drought.
In the previous campaign, Liverpool almost made it all the way in all four competitions. We managed to win the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Unfortunately, Manchester City’s win over Aston Villa decided the Premier League on the final day, while Real Madrid beat us in the UCL final.
But this season, the Reds have not looked at their best. We are currently ninth in the league table. We were also knocked out of the domestic cup competitions.

However, Klopp must be backed at this point. The German has given us our most successful period in recent years. As a result, the 55-year-old has enough credit in the bank for us to have faith in him.
