“I wish”: Ex-PL full-back wants Liverpool to sign both Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham

Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique feels Jurgen Klopp can convince Jude Bellingham to join the club

It is no secret that Liverpool will have it extremely tough to persuade Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham to join the club in the summer. The Reds’ tough domestic form has put the club in a state of bother as they find themselves in the ninth position on the league table with not long to go as well.

Jurgen Klopp will have it extremely tough to convince Jude to join the Reds if we somehow do not qualify for the UEFA Champions League. However, former Red Jose Enrique feels that the German can talk the talk and get Bellingham to sign for the Reds.

However, he also spoke about the Reds’ other transfer target, West Ham United’s Declan Rice. He commented on the difficulty of bringing both players to the Reds due to their high transfer fees and provided an accurate assessment of the situation.

Here is what Enrique told Genting Casino via Liverpool Echo on the transfer saga:

“I wish that both Bellingham and Rice would come to Liverpool next season, but I highly doubt it will happen through FSG. I still believe we can get Bellingham if Liverpool don’t qualify for the Champions League.”

“The problem with Liverpool is that they don’t just need one player, they need several. They need at least two midfielders, as well as one right winger to compete with Salah as there is no competition for him there.”

The club would need to spend a huge, huge sum to acquire both highly sought-after players given their ability, hype, and ceiling – which is hard to be see get sanctioned by Liverpool’s frugal owners, known for their cautious approach to transfer spending.

Who would the Reds sign?

While they have made significant investments in recent years, they are not known for splurging excessive amounts of money on players. The club’s transfer policy stands on a long-term approach, with an emphasis on developing young talent rather than breaking the bank for established stars.

It is true that Bellingham and Rice would be fantastic additions to Liverpool’s midfield, providing the team with youthful energy and quality in the centre of the park but given the frugal nature of the owners, it is sensible to look at alternatives who could cost cheaper or prioritize signing one of either Jude or Rice.

In conclusion, while the prospect of signing both Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice is exciting, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool will pursue such a costly transfer strategy. As a result, Liverpool may have to choose between Bellingham and Rice, or perhaps look at other alternatives that are more within their budget.
