“We are still Liverpool”- Jurgen Klopp confident of attracting big players this summer

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp talks about the club’s pull to get new players

As Liverpool look to gear up for another season in the Premier League, manager Jurgen Klopp is confident about the club’s pull heading into the summer transfer window. Despite a challenging year, Klopp believes that the lure of Liverpool will always be enough to attract the very best talent in world football.

There is a sound basis for Klopp’s optimism. Liverpool has a long and proud history of success, having won the league title on 19 occasions, as well as six European Cups and a host of other domestic and continental trophies.

The manager, even with Liverpool’s tough domestic run so far seems confident of getting on board the top players the club needs. Moreover, the win against Newcastle will increase the level of confidence in the dressing room beneficial for the team in the long run as well.

Here is what the gaffer had to say on Liverpool having pull in the transfer market even if they don’t make the Champions League next season (h/t ECHO):

“In general it makes things more difficult but we are still Liverpool, a big club. We will have transfer business obviously. We have to 100% make changes in the summer.”

The Reds are currently struggling to secure a top-four finish and the possibility of not qualifying for the UEFA Champions League may make it difficult for the club to attract some of the world’s best players.

Liverpool are a big club.

As the manager rightly pointed out, it makes things more difficult but we shouldn’t let go of our identity as a big club based on just one season of poor results. Liverpool is the most successful English club in history and has a knack for winning trophies.

Klopp remains confident in Liverpool’s ability to attract the right players, regardless of the team’s current form. Hopefully, our ideal transfer targets don’t let him down by getting on board at Anfield next summer, where there is a major need for a midfield overhaul.

That is where the Reds can be pleased to hear what Klopp said. The manager is rightly aware of the change needed and affirms it by saying there is a 100% need to change in the summer/
