“I am really surprised”- Real Madrid superstar on Liverpool’s struggles this season

Luka Modric surprised by Liverpool’s struggles this season

Speaking in an interview as quoted by Daily Mail, Luka Modric admitted that he’s surprised by Liverpool’s inconsistency this season, but also acknowledged the potential threat that they pose.

It’s been a tough campaign for Liverpool so far, with injuries, poor form and a lack of goals all contributing to their struggles. Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently in eighth place in the Premier League, a long way off the top four.

Despite their problems, Liverpool are still a formidable team. They’ve won their last two games, and they’ll be looking to carry that momentum into their clash with Real. They’ve also got some world-class players in their squad.

Modric is clearly aware of this, and he’s not taking Liverpool lightly. He’s praised their squad, and he knows that they’re capable of turning their season around at any time. He’s also acknowledged that a Liverpool-Real match is always a special occasion.

Modric has made it clear that he sees Real as the favourite to progress and it’s not hard to see why. The Spanish giants are currently second in La Liga, and they’ve won four of their last five games. They’ve also got a wealth of experience in the Champions League, having won the competition four times in the last seven years.

Speaking about the situation that Liverpool find themselves in, here is what the Croatian veteran had to say

“I am really surprised that Liverpool are so far from the first place in the Premier League, but they can also say the same about us at the moment in La Liga. So, I’m not saying anything!”

“Seeing the Liverpool squad, we know that at any time they can react and start to come back in the season. I hope it won’t be in these two Champions League games against us but we have to be ready”

Modric surprised by Liverpool’s struggles

Real also have some world-class players of their own, including Modric himself, as well as Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos. They’re a well-drilled team, with a strong defence and a potent attack, and they’ll be looking to take control of the tie from the outset.

It’s sure to be a hard-fought encounter, with both sides desperate to progress to the next round. Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from their recent struggles, and they’ll be hoping to make the most of their home advantage in the first leg.
