Carlo Ancelotti admits coming up with new plan for Real Madrid vs Liverpool

Speaking in an interview as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he is coming up with a new plan to counter Liverpool’s threat in their Champions League clash tonight.

Although Liverpool has had a few bumps in the road this season, Ancelotti believes that the team’s quality has not changed from last year. Considering this is the only trophy that they are really still in the running for, they might give their all to make this a success.

Ancelotti’s comments also show that he understands the difficulty of playing against Liverpool, especially at their home stadium, Anfield. The celebrated manager has been here before as an Everton and Chelsea manager.

Ancelotti also mentioned that he wants his team to be more offensive and to control the game. However, this raises a question about whether it is wise to take such a risk against Liverpool and this could play right into our hands.

Klopp’s team is known for its counter-attacking ability and its relentless pressing. If Real Madrid tries to control the game too much, they may be caught out by Liverpool’s quick transitions and concede goals.

These are facets of the team that Liverpool have really struggled with this campaign. It has hardly been anything like a side managed by Jurgen Klopp and the Reds will know that they have to play out of their skins today.

Speaking about the situation, here is what Carlo Ancelotti had to say about to say Liverpool’s chances.

“I don’t think Liverpool have ever changed their quality (from last season). We expect a tense game, we will be under pressure a lot, a game where you don’t have time to breathe and we know very well what to expect and we are well prepared for that”

“I’m worried more about Madrid. I want Madrid to worry Liverpool, not the other way around. We want them to be worrying about us, not us to be overworrying about them”

Ancelotti’s statement also shows that he wants his team to be confident and not over-worry about Liverpool. He wants his team to be the one putting Liverpool under pressure, not the other way around.
