Official: New date for Chelsea vs Liverpool fixture confirmed

The new date for Chelsea v Liverpool confirmed

Liverpool Football Club has confirmed a new date for their eagerly awaited Premier League fixture against Chelsea, which will now take place on Tuesday, April 4th at 8 PM BST at Stamford Bridge.

Originally scheduled for September 18th 2022, the fixture stood postponed to organise Her Majesty, The Queen’s Funeral Service. With both teams struggling to get going in the domestic circuit this season, the game will obviously go a long way in deciding the top four this season.

The match will be the second time Liverpool faces Chelsea this season, with the first encounter resulting in a boring goalless draw at Anfield. Both teams will be looking to secure a victory in this fixture to push for their position in the top four and strengthen their chances of securing Champions League football for next season.

Blues against the Reds

Two games – Chelsea vs. Liverpool and Man United vs. Leeds stood postponed from that time frame and have been rescheduled for later in the season. Liverpool’s recent form has been a mixed bag, with the team struggling to maintain consistency over the course of the season.

Hopefully, by the time we face Chelsea for the second time in the league, we stand in a good position and strengthen our chances for a top-four finish and certainly make things tough for our rivals from the capital.

By then, we could also hope to have most of our squad return from their respective lay-offs. The last thing Liverpool need at this stage is the recurrence of any sort of injury to any player which will totally mess up the squad balance which is already shaky.

In the meantime, both teams will have other fixtures to focus on, and they will need to ensure they maintain their form and fitness leading up to the match.
