Real Madrid are eyeing up a move for Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic
According to Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo), European champions Real Madrid are potentially eyeing up a move for young Liverpool sensation Stefan Bajcetic.
The report states that Real president Florentino Perez is a big fan of the player, who recently has become one of the regular starters in the Liverpool team. He played in that crazy first leg of the Champions League tie a week ago when the Spanish side trounced the Reds 5-2 at Anfield.
Bajcetic, 18, was named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for January, days after him signing a new long-term deal with the club. Not sure where these Madrid rumours have come from, but it anyway seems unlikely that the youngster will leave Anfield anytime soon.
Having arrived from the Celta Vigo youth side in January 2021, the Spanish U-18 international has grown in stature and squad status at a rapid pace here. A promising pre-season followed by a string of starts after the World Cup shows how much Jurgen Klopp trusts him.
We have to keep in mind that Bajcetic is a young player operating in one of the most important positions on a football field. So, he will have games where mistakes could be made. Our job as fans is to keep backing him because the talent is there. The performance against Everton showed how good he is.
It is a broken record to say that Liverpool have a massive rebuilding job on their hands in the midfield area. Amidst all the doom, it is good to see a young player stepping up and showing that he can one of the trusted players when Klopp does the refreshing in that department in the summer.
