Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas shares his verdict on the Wolves win

In his first start for Liverpool after the 3-1 loss to Brentford back in January, the Reds’ left-back Kostas Tsimikas marked his return to the line-up in style by providing the assist for Mohamed Salah’s goal against Wolves and was excellent in both, transitioning and defence.

As per FotMob‘s rating system, Kostas was the Reds’ second-best player with a rating of 8.2. Only Virgil van Dijk got a better rating with 8.5 and it was a refreshing watch after the Reds’ last game against Crystal Palace.

Game time has been tough to come by for our ‘Scouser Greek’ because of Andy Robertson’s almost guaranteed spot in the XI, but it is great to see the 26-year-old take his chances beautifully and deputise for the Scotsman.

Speaking to the club’s official website on the win, here is what Kostas had to say about the hard-fought win against a strong side:

“Yeah, it was a very hard game against a very tough opponent but in the end we saw we wanted more these three points. They played really good, they defended us very well, but in the end we scored two wonderful goals – three wonderful goals, one was a foul – and I’m very, very happy for all the boys and our performance.”

Tsimikas’ assist came in the 77th minute, as he delivered a pinpoint cross into the box for Salah to score. The Greek international showed his attacking prowess throughout the match, and his assist was certainly a key moment in the game as it gave a sense of security after the first goal.

Liverpool’s win over Wolves was obviously a crucial one, as the Reds continue to push for a top-four finish in the Premier League. The team has faced a number of injury problems this season, but they have shown that they have the quality and depth to compete at the highest level.

Liverpool’s next few fixtures will be crucial, as they face tough tests against the likes of Manchester United, City and Arsenal. However, Tsimikas’ performance against Wolves showed that the team has the quality and depth to compete at the highest level, even in the face of injury problems.

Despite limited game time this season, the Greek international has remained professional and dedicated, and his assist against Wolves was a testament to his hard work in training. Hopefully, the Reds continue their good form and Kostas can prove his skills in these games as well.
