Al-Nassr looking to pair Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino with Cristiano Ronaldo
Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr are looking to pair Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino with Cristiano Ronaldo. The Riyadh-based club ‘like’ the Brazil international, according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs on Caught Offside (h/t Express).
MLS side Atlanta United have previously been linked with a move for the forward in the upcoming transfer window. However, the Saudi Pro League side also admire the 31-year-old.
Writing in his column, Jacobs revealed that Al-Nassr are looking to bring big superstars to the Middle Eastern country. Atletico Madrid have also been suggested as potential suitors for Firmino.
“Al Nassr are interested and are also looking at PSG’s Sergio Ramos, which shows the type of stars they want to bring in alongside [Cristiano] Ronaldo.
“I still think Firmino can go and join a big Champions League club. I am told Atletico Madrid is one to watch.”
The Brazil international’s contract at the Merseyside outfit expires at the end of the season. As a result, the 31-year-old will be available as a free agent in the upcoming transfer window.
Firmino signed for the Reds in the summer of 2015 from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim. The Brazilian has been a key player over the years for the Anfield side.
He went on to form the famous trio of Jurgen Klopp’s team that included Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane up front. Together, the three forwards won it all, complementing each other along the way.
Unfortunately, in the previous campaign, injuries hampered Firmino’s game time. Subsequently, Mane also left Liverpool last summer, breaking up our formidable attack as a result.
The Reds have gone on to strengthen the forward line with multiple additions. In the summer of 2022, we signed Darwin Nunez from SL Benfica. In January, Cody Gakpo made his way to Merseyside from PSV Eindhoven.

Klopp also has Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota in his ranks. Therefore, the 31-year-old’s exit, while painful, seemingly does not affect the depth up front. However, it remains to be seen whether the Brazilian will end up playing alongside Ronaldo at Al-Nassr in the coming months.
