Transfer News: Liverpool ‘growing in confidence’ of Jude Bellingham deal
If there were one section of Premier League fans pleased with Chelsea going through in the UEFA Champions League apart from the obvious Blues, that would have been Liverpool. Priority transfer target Jude Bellingham did not have the best of games and while that is not ideal by any means, there is a chance that the 19-year-old would obviously want to go that extra step.
Being England’s most successful European club, Liverpool have that pedigree at the European level and are capable of winning the trophy more often than not, on paper, at least. And to give the Reds more confidence in their pursuit of the former Birmingham City man, there is good news.
The Daily Mail, via Liverpool Echo, suggest that Liverpool are ‘growing in confidence’ of a deal, with playing in next season’s Champions League listed as a ‘decisive factor’ in Bellingham’s next destination. To be fair, even the Reds do not have that confirmed yet.
But jokes apart, apart from the opportunity to play for England’s biggest club, Bellingham also needs to assess what the future at the Reds could bring for him. Even there, Liverpool appear to stand as the perfect fit for him.
Liverpool ‘growing in confidence’
With a midfield overhaul impending, Jude could certainly find himself at the core of changes at Liverpool beginning in the summer. A number of midfielders are likely to move on from the Reds, and that obviously gives Jurgen Klopp all the more reason to invest in Bellingham, as he is one for the future.
Moreover, with the Reds improving on form in recent weeks as well, the chances of a top-four finish are also increasing by the day and the Reds could certainly find themselves in Europe’s most elite club competition in 2023 as well.
Assessing his social media, he seems to be good mates with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson. Maybe the duo could play the Virgil van Dijk role and try to encourage Jude to move to Merseyside, like how Virg helped Cody Gakpo make a decision.
Bellingham’s style of play obviously fits the high-pressing, intense football that Liverpool is known for. He is comfortable playing in a number of midfield roles, whether it be as a defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder apart from his natural box-to-box role.

Liverpool fans have already envisioned Bellingham at the Reds, and he is probably the only player in the world who received so much love from the Merseysiders even though at the moment, he is not a Red yet. Hopefully, that changes over the summer and we could see him wear the iconic Liverpool #8.
