Report: UCL winning ace’s future still up in the air amidst Liverpool interest

‘No final decision’ as Liverpool target Marco Asensio still to decide on future

Liverpool Football Club is closely monitoring the situation surrounding Real Madrid’s midfielder Marco Asensio, whose future remains uncertain. According to reports, the Spanish midfielder is yet to make a final decision on his future at the La Liga giants, with his current contract set to expire later this year in June (Transfermarkt).

Asensio has largely been limited to substitute appearances for Real Madrid this season, and his agent reportedly spoke with English clubs last summer as per Fabrizio Romano’s Caught Offside (h/t Liverpool Echo). Liverpool, one of the clubs linked with the talented midfielder last summer, still show interest in his services.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Asensio’s future, Carlo Ancelotti has remained tight-lipped on the topic, and it seems both parties are no closer to finding a solution. Asensio’s future is now in his own hands, with the player having to decide whether to sign a new deal with Real Madrid or explore his options elsewhere.

Liverpool, who are always on the lookout for quality additions to their squad, could provide an attractive proposition to Asensio. The Reds have a rich history of developing and nurturing talents, and Asensio’s quality and versatility could add more depth to their midfield and attacking options.

Could Asensio move to the Reds?

Jurgen Klopp’s side has been heavily reliant on their front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino in recent years. Asensio could provide some much-needed competition and cover for the new-gen Liverpool attack with the likes of Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and obviously Diogo Jota and Salah.

The 27-year-old has shown his ability to play in a number of positions, including as a winger, attacking midfielder, and even as a striker, making him an excellent addition to Liverpool’s squad.

In conclusion, Liverpool’s interest in Marco Asensio remains strong, with the player yet to make a final decision on his future. The Reds could provide an attractive proposition to the Spanish midfielder, who has shown his quality and versatility in the past.

Asensio’s signing would add more depth to Liverpool’s squad and provide much-needed competition and cover for their front three.

It remains something only time could tell whether Asensio will choose to sign a new deal with Real Madrid or explore his options elsewhere, but Liverpool could be the perfect destination for the talented midfielder.
