“I am concerned”- Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s away form after Bournemouth loss

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits poor away form this season

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has expressed his deep concern over the club’s poor away form following their defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday. This was their eighth loss of the season, with seven of those losses coming from their thirteen away games. This includes two 3-0 losses to Brighton and Wolves.

With Liverpool’s hopes of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League hanging in the balance, Klopp admits that the team needs to start winning away from home if they are to achieve their goals.

The Reds’ away form has been a cause for concern this season, with the team struggling to replicate their impressive home performances on the road. Liverpool has been one of the most dominant teams in the league at home, having lost just once at Anfield this season. However, their away form has been the complete opposite, with the team losing seven of their thirteen away games as mentioned earlier as well.

The loss to Bournemouth on Saturday was particularly damaging for Liverpool’s top-four hopes, as they missed out on the opportunity to close the gap on their rivals. With several other teams vying for the top-four spots, Liverpool cannot afford to drop points in games they are expected to win.

Klopp obviously acknowledges that Liverpool’s away form needs to improve quickly if the team is to achieve their objectives this season.

He has called on his players to start winning away from home and to show more consistency in their performances and here is what he said via Liverpool Echo:

“I am concerned, yes. I see it. I see it. The home record, we are in the top four if I am right but away games we are not even in the European places. There is always a reason for the situation you are in and the away record is for sure. We could have had more points at home as well, not that we should have but away from home, definitely.

“It was a big strength of us in the last few years, we never made a difference between [home and away] but that is what happens when you do the right things consistently in the right way. And with the quality we have, we have a good chance to win away from home as well, just this season not often enough. It’s a clear point to be honest.”

Concerning Away Record for Liverpool this season

In conclusion, Liverpool’s away form has been a major concern for Jurgen Klopp and the club this season. With seven losses in thirteen away games, including a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth, Liverpool obviously need to improve their away form if they are to push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Klopp’s call for consistency and winning away from home is certainly vital for the club’s chances of achieving their objectives this season.
