Frankfurt could demand €100m for Liverpool target

Liverpool show interest in Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani

The departure of Roberto Firmino from Liverpool at the end of the current campaign might lead to negative consequences for Eintracht Frankfurt as the Reds might look to bolster their squad by signing the Bundesliga side’s star man Randal Kolo Muani

.

That is according to SportBILD via Sport Witness via Liverpool Echo, who have reported that the Reds are watching the Eintracht Frankfurt forward. Kolo Muani has 16 goals and 14 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season.

The said report also says that Manchester United also share an interest in the player, and the Reds could potentially get into a bidding war with their arch-rivals. His contract with Frankfurt expires only in 2027 (Transfermarkt

With the impending departure of Bobby, Kolo Muani on the Reds’ transfer radar makes a lot of sense. However, Frankfurt could demand worth upwards of €100m, which is catastrophic for the Reds if they are serious about the Frenchman.

Kolo Muani to the Reds?

Even though the idea of adding a few forwards to the team is not bad by any means, any purchase should be overseen only for the right price and €100m is a million too much. With the likes of Jude Bellingham on our transfer radar as well, going all guns blazing on an attacker will certainly seem pretty daft on Liverpool.

Instead, the Reds could look to sign someone like a Youssef En-Neysri who could prove to be a much more effective player, with respect to his affordability. Taking nothing away from Kolo Muani’s talent, €100m seems too far a stretch.

According to internal sources, Sporting Director Markus Krosche has reportedly been advising the attacker to stay with the German club, stating that it would be in the player’s best interest to do so.

This suggests that Krosche may see the player as an important asset to the team and wants to retain his services. However, only time will tell whether the player will heed this advice or choose to pursue other opportunities elsewhere.

In any case, Liverpool could view him as an option to replace Bobby, but only if the price is right. Paying too much for a player who would come into the club without even the guarantee of starting is Manchester United behaviour.
